About Us
NCAI is partnering with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to help disseminate information to tribes about participation in the Environmental Information Exchange Network (Exchange Network). The Exchange Network is a program that aims to share environmental, health, geographic, and other types of data between tribes, states, and territories through the Internet using common data standards. The overarching goal of the Exchange Network is to improve decision making by giving Network partners access to consistent, accurate environmental data. The Exchange Network is jointly governed by representatives from EPA, States, and Tribes.

NCAI has a cooperative assistance agreement with the EPA Exchange Network. The purpose of the assistance agreement is to increase awareness throughout Indian Country about the Network that would lead to increased tribal capacity for environmental data monitoring and sharing while educating and informing EPA staff and Exchange Network partners about tribal considerations and needs for Exchange Network participation.
NCAI and the Tribal Governance Group
NCAI coordinates the Tribal Exchange Network Governance Group (TGG), which is comprised of tribal program and policy officials who are members of the EPA Exchange Network governance boards along with state and federal representatives.
