SEARCH RESOURCES
Resolutions
All of NCAI’s advocacy work is guided by the resolutions process. The resolutions created and passed by NCAI members cover a broad range of topics and are important for providing direction to the organization and as advocacy tools with policy makers. Currently, the online searchable database houses nearly 1,000 resolutions dating back to 2001. The organization's online archives will continue to expand and reach as far back as 1944. |
Testimony & Speeches
NCAI regularly submits testimony on the issues that are important to Tribal Nations. Also available in this resource database are speeches delivered by NCAI leadership. Together, these tools serve as a means of letting policy makers and the public know what is important to tribal nations. |
Policy PapersNCAI often releases policy papers on key topics, legislation, and milestones related to Indian Country. These policy papers are provided to inform tribal leaders, the general public, and members of the media about these aspects of NCAI’s work. |
Legal FilingsThe legal filings database includes amicus briefs and documents relevant to judicial matters affecting Indian Country. The legal filings database also includes important documents from the Tribal Supreme Court Project. |
Consultation SupportThe consultation resources provide consultation information and support for tribal leaders. In a 2009 memorandum, President Obama declared his commitment to fulfilling the consultation requirements of Executive Order 13175, a directive originally issued by President Clinton on November 6, 2000. Executive Order 13175 calls for regular, meaningful consultation and collaboration with Tribal officials in the development of Federal policy. |
