On Friday, March 20, 2020, five national Native organizations hosted the Indian Country Addresses COVID-19 Press Conference via a telebriefing to address the ongoing need for visibility to how the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is affecting Indian Country, as well as efforts with state and federal leaders to ensure that Indian Country is properly funded and resourced during this crisis. The Native American Finance Officers Association (NAFOA), the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA), the National Indian Health Board (NIHB), and the National Indian Education Association (NIEA) are offering the members of the press an opportunity to learn more about COVID-19 affects to Indian Country, including answering questions around areas such as health, education, housing, access to resources, and funding needs among other areas.
