WASHINGTON, D.C. | The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) congratulates John Tahsuda III, enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, on his recent appointment as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs by U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke.
Mr. Tahsuda has a strong background in Indian law and policy and has spent his career working on behalf of tribal nations and tribal programs with the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and in private practice. “John is a great choice for Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs. I have worked with John for many years and know that his work ethic, the great deal of experience he acquired while on the Committee, and his comprehensive expertise in Indian Affairs will serve Indian Country well. NCAI welcomes his appointment and looks forward to the continued progress that will be made,” NCAI Executive Director Jacqueline Pata said.
