Immediate passage of S.1925, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, is critical to the safety of Native women. S.1925 contains key provisions that give tribes more local control to combat misdemeanor crimes of violence against women in their communities and federal prosecutors more tools to appropriately deal with the more serious felonies.
