On behalf of the State of Oklahoma, Senator Susan Paddock and Representatives Todd Thomsen, Wes Hilliard, Lisa J. Billy, and Paul D. Roan, signed a “Citation of Congratulations” for Lieutenant Governor Keel’s  election as the “first tribal leader from Oklahoma” to serve as President of the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI).  Because of this recent accomplishment, it was the “most appropriate time for the Senate and the House of Representatives of the State of Oklahoma to express appreciation and congratulations to Jefferson Keel on his election to this most prestigious position.”

In addition, President Keel received a letter of commendation from the Oklahoma Indian Affairs Commission and a citation of honor from Representative Paul Wesselhoft, the Native American Caucus, and the Oklahoma House of Representatives.  According to the Commission, Keel “has brought honor to the Great State of Oklahoma and Oklahoma’s sovereign nations.”
