The Department of Justice has initiated consultation with tribes regarding setting aside funds from existing tribal programs to assist Indian tribes in exercising special domestic violence criminal jurisdiction. Details regarding the dates and times for consultation are included in the invitation letter, along with a framing paper explaining the questions DOJ hopes to discuss via consultation. The first in-person consultation will take place at NCAI’s Annual Convention Sunday October 18, 2015 at 1:00p.m. in San Diego, CA.
