The National Intertribal Tax Alliance (NITA) is pleased to announce this year’s 17th Annual Tax Conference to be held at the beautiful Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, New York on September 16-17, 2015. The Seneca Niagara Resort is owned by the Seneca Nation of Indians known as the “Keepers of the Western Door” for the Iroquois Confederacy located in western New York State. Buffalo, NY will be the closest airport.
NITA is excited about this year’s Conference and expects a record turnout. Its 2-day Conference agenda with general sessions and breakouts will address all of the major “hot topic” Indian Country legal taxation issues. A sampling of agenda topics are listed in this announcement and the Board will continue to develop additional topics.
The NITA Board also requests your assistance in the development of its Conference Agenda and welcomes your suggestions for topics, speakers or other formats you would like to see included in this year’s Conference. In addition, please assist the NITA Board by sharing this announcement with your contacts or have them contact me directly to be added to the NITA mailing list. Please email your input by Friday, February 27, 2015.
The NITA Board is working diligently on an informative Conference Agenda with an all-star cast of speakers from diverse backgrounds with expertise and in-depth knowledge in all these areas of tribal taxation facing tribes today. This year’s Conference and will give attendees valuable assistance and information that they can apply to their respective positions as tribal tax administrators and commissions, tribal members and leaders, legal counsel, consultants, business entrepreneurs and others interested in these complex and ever-changing tribal taxation issues.
It is anticipated that the NITA Board will have the final Conference Brochure completed by late March or early April for distribution and will contain the Conference Agenda, list of speakers, registration fees/information, hotel rates/accommodations as well as local area attractions in the Niagara Falls, NY area.
The NITA website will be updated as the Conference Brochure is developed and finalized and additional information will be uploaded as well. Like last year, registration and registration fees can be completed online.
