Survival of the First Voices Festival 2014

Date: Jul 30, 2014 - Aug 1, 2014

Where: Farmington, NM

About the Event:

The entire festival will consist of speakers, workshops, a round-table discussion, music and dance performances, film screenings, a fashion show, a comedy show, an open mic night, a book signing, traditional storytelling, and a banquet with an overall theme of social justice, reclaiming our histories, preserving our cultures, and increasing our presence in mainstream culture.

Since the event quickly gained attention and more Indigenous artists want to be involved, an Indiegogo online crowd-funding campaign was started. SFVF partnered with the San Juan College Native American center to make this event happen at the end of this summer (July 30-August 1st) in Farmington, NM.
