The United Nations will host a World Conference on Indigenous Peoples in September, 2014 in New York, NY. The focus of this high level meeting is to share perspectives and best practices on the realization of the rights of indigenous peoples and to pursue the objectives of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoles.
 
Leading up to this conference, North American members of the Global Coordinating Group (GCG), appointed by the North American Indigenous Peoples' Caucus (NAIPC), will host a planning meeting February 28-March 1, 2013 at the Sycuan Resort near San Diego, CA (in traditional Kumeyaay Territory).  

Venue Details:  
The room rates are $99 plus 8% tax per room per night ($106.92). Reservations need to be made by February 11, 2013. For special rate, mention that you are with the NAIPC. In preparation for this meeting, please familiarize yourself with the UN Mechanism on Indigenous Peoples and/or read and study the relevant documents such as those associated with the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the Modalities Resolution, and others, such as those related to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
