The U.S. Department of Justice's National Indian Country Tra ining Initiative is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring a seminar on Forensic Interviewing of Child and Adolescent Victims and Witnesses in Indi an Country Seminar. The seminar will be held June 9-12\, 2015\, at the Nati onal Advocacy Center in Columbia\, South Carolina. Travel and lodging accom modations will be provided by the Office of Legal Education.

\nForensic interviewing is an interviewing process used with childr en for the purpose of providing evidence to the police\, prosecutors\, and the court in the investigation and prosecution of suspected abuse. The goa l of a forensic interview is to obtain a statement from a child in a develo pmentally-sensitive\, unbiased\, and truth seeking manner.

This training is specifically designed for federal and tribal inves tigators and prosecutors who are responsible for conducting forensic interv iews of child and adolescent victims and witnesses. The attendee will rece ive instruction on the latest research-based information on interviewing te chniques\, and will be provided opportunities to develop and refine intervi ewing skills during child interviewing exercises.
