for law enforcement\, child welfare advocates\, and domestic violence advoc
ates to implement effective service and advocacy strategies in cases involv
ing child welfare\, domestic violence\, or both. --- BRIMLEY\, MI - The Bay
Mills Indian Community (Gnoozhekaaning) remains committed to the future re
silience of Indian Country and the COVID-19 outbreak requires communities t
o ensure health and safety in new ways. The tribe will host the annual trai
 ning conference\, Noojimo&rsquo\;iwewin: A Virtual VAWA and ICWA Training\,
  August 5-7\, 2020 (https://www.twgtrainings.com/noojimo-iwewin2020). Strea
med digitally via Zoom\, the conference invites law enforcement officials\,
attorneys\, and social work advocates from all communities to look forward
from domestic violence. When applied to the law\, noojimo&rsquo\;iwewin\,
healing the mind and body as well as illness\, can guide community advocate
s in ensuring the safety of future generations. Federal laws like the Viole
nce Against Women Act (VAWA) and the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) addres
s concerns that tribes face when violence occurs. While dealing with the le
gal aspects of these concerns\, tribal communities can also heal through ap
propriate community and culturally-based justice and advocacy.</span></p>\n
